The Detectives:
Kate Beckett
Strong, gorgeous, sassy and smart, Kate is not your typical damsel in distress. After joining the force after her mother's murder, she has made it her mission to solve tough cases and put deserving criminals away for good.
She is close friends with medical examiner Lanie Parrish and has a interesting love-hate relationship with case consultant Richard Castle. She is also the inspiration for Castle's new series of books centered around a sexy, dangerous cop named Nikki Heat.
Kevin Ryan
Works as part of Kate Beckett's team. He and fellow pal Javier Esposito look out for Kate and treat her like a little sister. He is caring and kind, if a little dim-witted. He and Esposito constantly argue about obscure facts. He recently got married to Jenny O'Malley.
Javier Esposito
Sarcastic and charming, Esposito considers himself a ladies man. He also works as part of Beckett's team alongside his best friend Kevin Ryan. He is having an on-off relationship with Lanie Parrish, which is a secret-or at least he thinks so.
Lanie Parrish
The Precinct's sexiest medical examiner, Lanie is used to dealing with clingy men-dead or otherwise! She's flirty and cheerful, despite working with corpses all day long. She is best friends with Kate and having an on-off relationship with Esposito.
The Consultant
Richard Castle
Richard is a best-selling mystery writer, who joins Beckett and her team on their cases in order to get inspiration for his next novel. As he isn't a cop, he often provides a new perspective on the department cases which eventually lead to them being solved. Though initially he and Kate butt heads, the team soon come to accept him as one of their own. He has feelings for Kate.
